• City celebrates Jacoby Olympic win with homecoming parade

    All of Seward turned out on Thursday for a parade honoring Lydia Jacoby, who returned home earlier this week having garnered worldwide acclaim for her gold and silver-winning Olympic performances in Tokyo last month.

    Seward’s Lydia Jacoby took the gold in the 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:04.95 beating out both teammate Lilly King and South African Tatiana Schoenmaker. King was the 2016 gold medalist in the event.

  • Seahawks Split Weekend Matchups

    Growing off their performance at the Seahawk Classic, both the Seward varsity boys and girls basketball programs went 1-1 over the weekend, playing some high-intensity matchups against Birchwood Christian, Glennallen, and Kenai Central.

  • Candy Cane Splash Returns

    Club swimmers from across the Kenai Peninsula gathered in Seward over the Dec. 4 weekend to compete in the annual Candy Cane Splash Invitational and newly created Gingerbread Dunk.

  • Pop-up science exhibit “In Search of Earth’s Secrets” to come to Seward

    Seward has been selected to host a unique pop-up science exhibit that focuses on bringing discoveries from beneath the earth’s ocean crust to the doorsteps of smaller rural communities.

  • Swimmers get new personal bests at Alaska Swimming Age Group Championships

    The Seward Tsunami Swim Club sent four swimmers to the 2022 Alaska Swimming Age Group Championships, held from February 18-20 in Fairbanks. Headlined by Iver Gates earning second place finishes in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle, all swimmers coasted to personal bests as the Tsunami’s finished tied for 17th overall in the state.
